Paul Barton is a master trainer, Ironman, has completed over 130 marathons, ninja warrior... and Buff early adopter.
We asked him what processes help drive his incredible achievements, and what advice he would give to the Buff community.
🗣️ “My Ironman wasn’t really about race day - it was about the months beforehand.
“Training had to fit around work, family, and everything else life throws at you.
“Most days were early mornings, late evenings, and simply showing up when it would’ve been easier not to.
“The biggest lesson was that consistency matters more than motivation. There were plenty of days when I was tired, busy, or didn’t feel like training, but progress came from doing the work anyway.
“Race day had its highs and lows, but crossing the finish line made it all worthwhile. More than anything, I felt proud - not because of the result, but because I’d committed to something difficult and followed through.
“For anyone starting their own journey, whether it’s a Couch to 5K, a marathon, or something bigger, remember that nobody starts at the finish line.
“Focus on the next step, stay consistent, and trust that small efforts add up over time.”

Consistent, small skincare efforts that stack over time

Why do we share stories and inspiration from athletes like Paul?
Because the themes that run through fitness and wellbeing also run through skincare.
Consistency and recognising that achieving great skin is a process that we build over time.
And even more importantly, that we don't just 'arrive' at great skin. We can build from small, achievable habits that stack into consistent, effective wellbeing routines which support our skin, our confidence, and our performance.
